September 2018 Update

September 2018

Further to our previous communications, the Childcare Voucher Scheme is due to close to new joiners from the 4th October 2018.

Please be aware though that should you wish to join the Childcare Voucher Scheme you will need to have had a salary deduction taken/voucher issued before the closure date. This means that you need to have had a deduction taken from your September 2018 salary at the latest.

New joiners will not be permitted to join the scheme after this date, as per HMRC guidelines.

This includes anyone that has been a previous member of the scheme but has changed employers. However, if you have changed employers under a business transfer, that’s covered by the Transfer of Undertakings Protection of Employment (TUPE), you will be eligible to join

After the 4th October 2018 you will be permitted to re-join the scheme if you have remained with the same employer and have had a salary deduction taken/voucher issued within the last 52 weeks. After this period you will be classed as a new joiner and will be unable to re-join the scheme.

The website https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/ will provide you with information about other types of childcare support that is available to parents.
