Closure of Childcare Voucher Scheme Extended

14th March 2018

Closure of Childcare Voucher Scheme Extended

Further to our ongoing communications regarding the rollout of the new Tax-Free Childcare Scheme (TFC), you will already be aware that the existing Employer Supported Childcare (ESC) voucher scheme was due to close to new joiners on the 5th April 2018.

However, following a debate in the House Of Commons yesterday, Education Secretary Damian Hinds made the concession to extend the close of the ESC scheme by 6 months.

HMRC have confirmed on their My Choices website - https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk that the ESC scheme will now remain open to new joiners until October 2018.

It may be worthwhile communicating news of the extension with any parents still looking to join the ESC scheme, as they may potentially have been advised this is no longer possible due to payroll cut off dates.

In view of the extended deadline we would encourage all employers to relaunch the scheme and we can provide marketing material to support this. Please just let us know if you would like any marketing material sending to you.

If you have any further questions in the meantime, please don't hesitate to contact us.
